pteromys: Wishing fluffies (ship)

I'm writing this (more like a couple of paragraphs of its first draft) while drinking some tea in the second floor of the Student Center. (Thanks, [livejournal.com profile] woodsywild, for telling me where to find the hot water.) Interestingly, I seem to be able to produce funky water globules just by jamming the tip of the stirrer up and down at the surface. They follow the Wikipedia description pretty well, particularly in how they skitter over the surface like rolling marbles.

I went to tEp!'s "Exclamation Points" event last night, which turned out to be utter nonsense. The idea seems to have been to gather a few curious people in one location and hope something fun happens. We ended up playing with liquid nitrogen. I had an opportunity to see the way drops of spilled liquid nitrogen skitter over the table like rolling marbles. Yes, I'm aware of the odd similarity to my tea this morning, but it probably doesn't have any deep (scientific) meaning.

Anyhow, this was a lot of fun. Certainly the real school year isn't going to consist of running from place to place for food and games, but... meh. One way or another, my decision is essentially made by this time; I like this place very much. However, I'll wait for both the excitement and tiredness to wear off before I send my replies.
